HFC Celebrates Women’s History Month

Guest Speaker, Dr. Michelle Powell, Dr. of Osteopathic Medicine & Miami Gardens City Council Member

Dr. Michelle C. Powell is a distinguished osteopathic physician with over 30 years of healthcare experience. As the CEO and Family Physician of Powell Health Solutions Corp. in Miami, Florida, she combines clinical excellence with entrepreneurial leadership. Dr. Powell holds both a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University and a Master of Public Health degree, complementing her extensive medical expertise with a deep understanding of public health systems.

A dedicated educator, Dr. Powell serves as an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Nova Southeastern University, where she shapes the next generation of medical professionals. Her commitment to global healthcare is demonstrated through her participation in multiple medical missions to Jamaica and Haiti. She is also the founder of Women of H.O.P.E. (Health Occupations Promoting Education), reflecting her passion for advancing healthcare education and opportunities.

Dr. Powell’s leadership extends beyond clinical practice, having served as Nominating Committee Chairperson for Jackson Memorial Hospital Public Health Trust and Chairperson of the Dade County Health Policy Authority Advisory Selection Committee. She is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians and maintains active memberships in the American Osteopathic Association and American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.

Her dynamic approach to healthcare management, combined with her experience in contract negotiation and fiscal management, makes her a compelling speaker on topics ranging from family medicine and public health to healthcare leadership and entrepreneurship.
